Rowsmith: Terms of Use (free phase) Version 2026-10-18 (v0.2). 1. Who runs this. Rowsmith is a product name used by meiorz, an individual publishing under that name, who operates this service. No company or other entity stands behind it. 2. What it is. A free API that returns generated test data (CSV, JSON or SQL) from a schema you send, a catalogue of deliberately invalid test values, and a payment sandbox. The payment sandbox is a fake card processor for testing: it records test charges and refunds for 1 hour and then deletes them. It moves no money, contacts no payment provider and accepts only card numbers from Stripe's published testing list. Every sandbox object is marked "livemode": false, "sandbox": true and TEST DATA. It is free and rate-limited; there is nothing to buy. 3. The data is generated. Every value is produced by a program from a random seed. No real person's data is used as input, and no record is derived from a real person. Identifiers come only from reserved or invalid ranges: example.com, example.org, example.net and .test email domains; 555-0100 to 555-0199 phone numbers; card numbers published for testing; SSN-shaped values in never-issued ranges; IBAN-shaped values with invalid check digits. A generated name can still coincide with a real person's by chance. 4. Acceptable use. Send schemas and sandbox requests only. Do not send real personal data, real card numbers or any other real records. Card-like numbers that are not on the published testing list are never stored; requests containing them are refused where the service detects them. Do not use the service, or its output, to deceive anyone, to impersonate a person or organization, or for any unlawful purpose. Requests that break these rules may be refused. 5. Limits. Up to 500 rows per call; daily limits per caller and in total; requests over a limit get HTTP 429. The current limits are published at /openapi.json. 6. No warranty. The service and its output are provided "as is", without any warranty, for testing and development only. Do not use the output in production or to make decisions about people. 7. Limitation of liability. To the extent the law allows, meiorz is not liable for any loss arising from use of the service or its output. 8. Availability. The service may change, be limited or stop at any time without notice. 9. Location. The service is not offered in comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions, and requests from them are refused where they can be identified. 10. Law and contact. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Contact: business@meiorz.tech.
